Key Stations
Once a bike is checked out of a key station, the user can lock the bike to any standard bike rack using the integrated U-lock on the bike frame. This makes our system convenient for users to park close to their destination, and not need to hunt for a nearby key station. Bikes can then be returned to any On Bike Share key station when convenient. This innovative key station approach provides a highly secure and cost-effective way of controlling and tracking shared bicycle usage. Easy to UseThe On Bike Share system is designed to make it simple to use. Walk up to any On Bike Share key station and swipe your existing employee ID card or student ID card over the panel. The key station also has a full touchscreen display. For additional security, an optional password can be required using the touchscreen.

Our complete systems combine our key stations with our innovative low maintenance Bicycles. Our specially designed bicycles use an integrated lock design which increases security and reduces abuse. If you already have existing bicycles, you can use your own locks and keys to add your existing bikes to our key stations. This provides a fast and cost effective transition to full automation. At the heart of the On Bike Share solution are the automated key stations. These key stations securely store and electronically release keys for bikes in the system. The key stations can be installed into the wall of any building or foyer, so bikes can be deployed in convenient locations across your campus. Users can access the key stations and bikes using their existing employee or student ID cards.
Swiping your key opens the key station panel door and highlights a key for the next available bike at that station. The keys are electronically controlled, and only the highlighted key can be removed. When the key is removed, the backend software management system will record the user, location, time, and bike that was taken. The user takes the key to the matching bike at that location, unlocks the integrated lock on the bike, and rides away. To return the bike, users simply lock the bike back onto the On Bike Share bike rack using the integrated lock built into the frame, walk up the key station and swipe their card. The key station panel door will open and highlight the location to return the key. Close the door and walk away.
