Unpack BikeRemove bicycle from box and use scissors or cutting tool to remove tie straps and other packaging from bike. Unpack front fender and basket. Open accessory box and remove pedals and rear reflector.
Place Bicycle on KickstandSlide kickstand down and snap into open position.
Insert Handlebar Stem into FrameRotate front fork so brake arms are facing forward. Remove plastic cap from bottom of stem and insert stem into head tube of bike frame. Secure the stem by tightening the bolt on the top of the stem going down into the frame. Use a 6mm Allen tool to tighten this bolt. At this time, handlebar does not need to be aligned with fork or front wheel.
Attach Front WheelLook at sidewall of tire for arrow indicating tire Direction, or compare to tread pattern on rear wheel to confirm correct direction for tire. Slide wheel into dropouts (slots) at the bottom of the front fork legs. Each side of the axle will have a nut and washer to outside of the dropout. Using one hand, apply downward pressure to handlebar to press forks straight down onto front wheel axle. While continuing to apply downward pressure, tighten the axle nuts using the 15mm wrench. Tighten each axle nut a bit at a time so wheel does not tilt to one side or the other. Progressively tighten both sides until axle nuts are completely tight.
Connect Front BrakeWith one hand, lift the swingarm at the top of the brake arm on the right side fork leg. With other hand, pull the silver tube at the end of the brake cable to insert into cutout at end of swingarm. This will be tight. The tip of the silver tube will catch in cutout at end of swingarm. Slide rubber boot to cover tip of silver tube. Note the front brake is the same as the rear brake, so please use the rear brake as a reference.
NOTE: If brake pad rubs on one side of the rim, please repeat step 4 above to make sure wheel is properly seated on fork and wheel is centered between brake pads.
NOTE: If brake pad rubs on one side of the rim, please repeat step 4 above to make sure wheel is properly seated on fork and wheel is centered between brake pads.
Adjust Stem and HandlebarStep thru and straddle bike. Loosen stem bolt. Align stem with front wheel such that the handlebar is perpendicular to the wheel. Slide the stem to the desired height, and secure stem by tightening stem bolt.
Note that the stem allows for a range of heights, but it does have a minimum insertion height, indicated by hash marks on the stem. These hash marks must be fully covered when the stem is tightened.

Attach Front FenderPosition front fender behind front wheel such that the ‘arms’ extend forward towards the bottom of the fork legs, and the brace at the top of the fender is behind the crown of the fork. Use the included hardware to secure the fender. The top bolt goes through the fork and the brace at the top of the fender; tighten using T30 torx and 10mm wrench. The ends of the fender ‘arms’ are secured to the fork dropout using a T25 torx.
Attach Rear BasketLocate the four (4) bolts included with the bicycle in the accessory box. Position basket on top of the rear rack section of the frame to align holes in basket with pre-threaded holes on frame. Use the four bolts to secure the basket to the frame by tightening with T25 torx.
Attach Rear ReflectorLocate Red rear reflector included with the bicycle in the accessory box. Position the reflector so it aligns with mounting plate on back of basket, and faces backwards from the bike. Use included screw to secure reflector to basket using a Phillips head screwdriver.
Attach PedalsFind the Right pedal marked with a sticker with an “R” on it. Insert the Right pedal into the Right crank arm and tighten clockwise using the 15mm wrench.
Find the Left pedal marked with a sticker with an “L” on it. Insert the Left pedal into the Left crank arm and tighten counterclockwise using the 15mm wrench.

Plan Ahead. Avoid Surprises.Planning ahead is the best way to get your system off to a great start. The first step is to select locations for your ‘bike stations’. Choosing the right bike station location(s) can save you a lot of time and frustration when the system arrives.
A ‘bike station’ can consist of any number of racks – depending on desired bike capacity and available space. The bike racks must be installed onto concrete. Concrete pads should be at least 3” deep, and meet the minimum measurements required for the desired number of racks, as provided in this guide.
If you are doing the work yourself, prepare all tools in advance. Locate the nearest power outlet if using a drill that needs to be plugged in. If hiring a contractor for the installation, be sure to provide them these instructions in advance. We recommend watching the rack installation video in advance of the installation.
If you have questions, please contact us at 401-475-8094.
- Bike Station Location
- Bike racks can be installed inside or outside, but must be installed into concrete.
- The bike racks do not require power. The locks on the bikes are battery powered.
- Bike rack locations should be level. Areas with inclines or declines may affect the docking/releasing of bikes from racks.
- When drilling, confirm there are no pipes, wires or heating elements below the surface.
- The best locations are those most convenient to riders, such as near building entrances or exists.
- We recommend installing the bikes in a location that is not easily seen from the street or accessible to the public.
- If possible, we recommend using camera surveillance for enhanced security.

IMPORTANT: Before You Begin Installation
Measure the working space and calculate the number of bikes that will fit in the space. Mark the locations for each rack and confirm spacing as well as setbacks from walkways and roadways. Street Setbacks and Spacing
- Spacing from street behind bikes: 103"
- Spacing from street beside racks to bikes: 60”
Tools Needed for Installation
- Tape measure
- Marker or pencil
- Masonry drill bit 3/8"
- Drill (Hammer drill recommended)
- Hammer
- 9/16" Wrench or socket
- Level
Installation Steps
STEP 1:
Place the rack in the desired location. Use a marker or pencil to outline the holes of the flange onto the base material.
STEP 2:
Drill the holes using a 3/8” drill bit appropriate for the surface you are drilling into. Make sure the holes are at least 3" away from any cracks in the base material. Holes should be at least 2.5” deep.
STEP 3:
Use washers to level rack if necessary. The height and angle of the rack pin must match the height of the receiving hole on the bike’s smartlock.
STEP 4:
Place washer on anchor, and thread nut onto top of anchor so the nut is fully threaded onto the anchor. The smaller diameter top of the anchor will extend beyond the nut.
STEP 5:
Using a hammer, tap anchor through hole on top of rack base and into the matching drilled hole in concrete. Hammer until rack is flat on concrete surface and bolt/nut is tight on top of rack base.
STEP 6:
Using a 9/16” wrench or socket wrench, tighten the nut to 20-25 ft/lbs of torque.
IMPORTANT
Once racks are installed, check to make sure bikes dock smoothly onto racks. Use the Maintenance App to unlock each bike and make sure it releases smoothly from rack. If the bike does not dock or unlock smoothly, check the rack angle and adjust as needed.
